Boyfriend spoke of knife wounds hours after Lotz died, says investigator.(News)

Fred van der Vyver burst into tears and wanted to know if his girlfriend, Inge Lotz, had been raped when an investigator questioned him the day after the young woman's murder, the Cape High Court has been told.

This had been Van der Vyver's reaction when he asked him whether he and Lotz had been lovers, Superintendent Neville de Beer, of the Serious and Violent Crimes Unit, said.

Lotz, a master's student in mathematical statistics and tutor at Stellenbosch University, was murdered in her flat in March 2005. She was not raped.
