Saratoga County should be able to begin its day-care program for children of low-income working mothers by mid-August, when it receives operating guidelines from the state.
The state Department of Social Services expects to finish writing the program rules sometime in the next two to three weeks, department spokesman Terrance McGrath said Friday.
"That's good to hear," said Russell M. Priester, the county deputy commissioner of social services. The county Social Programs Committee had expressed annoyance at the length of time the state was taking to establish the program gudelines for the current fiscal year.
