SA: Former minister to face court in Tasmania on sex offences
ADELAIDE, Aug 19 AAP - A 58-year-old former minister of religion has been extraditedfrom South Australia to Tasmania to face sex offences.
The man was arrested yesterday by the SA Police Paedophile Task Force and appearedthis morning in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court, east of Adelaide.
Police said he had been living in the South Australian Murray lands.
He was charged with two counts of sexual assault, the offences alleged to have occurredin Tasmania in 1982.
In court today he was remanded in custody to appear in the Hobart Court of Petty Sessionson Friday.
Following his appearance he was brought to the Adelaide watch-house to await the arrivalof two detectives who would escort him to Tasmania.
