NSW: CFMEU to go to court in bid to get Cole to stand down
A union will launch legal action in the Federal Court this afternoon to try to forcebuilding industry Royal Commissioner TERENCE COLE to stand down.
In the commission in Sydney, counsel for the Construction Forestry Mining and EnergyUnion, IAN LATHAM, has made an application for Commissioner COLE to disqualify himselfon the grounds of bias.
Commissioner COLE rejected the application, saying it will have to be put in writing.
But outside the Commission CFMEU representatives said they'll take the matter to theFederal Court at 2.30pm (AEST) today.
The CFMEU has repeatedly claimed that the Commission is politically motivated and istrying to discredit the union.
