NSW: Trust your instincts, not your GP, cancer survivor warns

SYDNEY, Feb 25 AAP - Ovarian cancer survivor Kerry Lowe is urging women to "trust their
instincts" if they fear they may have the disease, and not rely on Pap smears.

Women who fear they have this disease should be persistent with their GP, Ms Lowe said
at the launch of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month on Wednesday.

"I was very lucky. I had all the right treatment," she told reporters at Sydney's Royal
North Shore Hospital (RNSH).
